Saint Louis - Lebanon
Now with the first of the eight States behind, we left Saint Louis around 8 o’clock.
It was raining to start with, but the weather improved after a few hours’ and the sun came forward.
After Eureka the Route 66 became what we where waiting for (narrow and winding) really pleasant driving.
First stop was in Staunton for the famous Meramec Caverns. We had a very educational tour.
Then we drove through Sullivan, Bourbon, Cuba, St. James and Rolla to Hooker.
After the Hooker cut we stopped at the Devils Elbow. The old steel-truss bridge is a lovely view.
After Waynesville we approached Lebanon and the Munger Moss Motel, destination for today.
This day we got the first Route 66 feeling.
