Taumarunui to Taupo

Our first stop for today was
Raurimu, the Railway Spiral. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raurimu_Spiral Then we continued to Whakapapa in the
Tongariro National Park. Unfortunately the weather was not
as expected. No views of the Mt. Ruapehu (Active Volcano) today. But The
Grand Chateau was magnificent even in the mist. Then we followed SH47 towards
Turangi. It is called the Capitol of trout fishing. From Turangi we drove on SH1 along
the lake Taupo to Taupo, our destination for today. Today’s trip: Total trip
